In the heart of Miami, less than two blocks away from towers in three different directions, this jungle compound at 87 SW 18th Road is tucked into a quiet corner off South Miami Avenue. A double lot property, with a historic 1937 main house, modern guest house, vintage Airstream trailer in the yard (unfortunately interior photos of the Airstream aren’t provided), and luscious pool, it hit the market a few days ago for $1.45 million.

Inside the Miami Women’s Club’s Bayfront Downtown Ballroom
The Miami Women’s Club is a petite golden yellow tower at the south end of Margaret Pace Park, standing watch over Biscayne Bay. This Mediterranean Revival structure was designed by August Geiger, one of the great Med Revival architects of Miami’s early years, and opened in 1926. Recently, urban explorer Bullet of abandonedfl.com went inside to photograph the club’s magnificent old ballroom. awaiting its restoration.

City Place Doral is Topping Off, and the ‘Urbanization’ of Doral Continues
Construction of the majority of City Place Doral, the mixed-use retail and residential development being jointly built by the Related and Shoma Groups, has topped off according to the developers, and is on schedule for completion by the fourth quarter of this year. This encompasses the Flats at City Place Doral, a pair of long apartment blocks lining Main Street City Place, as well as 600,000 square feet of restaurants and retail, or enough to fill three Cocowalks.

Miami Worldcenter Broke Ground Today & Celebrated With Helicopter Rides Over Miami
Paramount Miami Worldcenter, and the Mall at Miami Worldcenter, two of the key components of the multi-billion dollar Miami Worldcenter megaproject, held a joint groundbreaking ceremony today in Downtown Miami. The affair was likely the biggest ground breaking ceremony of this real estate cycle, and perhaps even in all of Miami’s history. The project itself (Paramount and the Mall are linked in one gigantic building) actually began work late last year.
