Construction of the majority of City Place Doral, the mixed-use retail and residential development being jointly built by the Related and Shoma Groups, has topped off according to the developers, and is on schedule for completion by the fourth quarter of this year. This encompasses the Flats at City Place Doral, a pair of long apartment blocks lining Main Street City Place, as well as 600,000 square feet of restaurants and retail, or enough to fill three Cocowalks.

Along with the Codina Group’s nearby Downtown Doral megaproject, the whole complex is meant to bring urbanism, density, and walkability to Doral, creating something of a satellite urban core to Downtown Miami, in an area that’s already a major residential and employment center. Restaurants coming to City Place include Angelo Elia, Brimstone Woodfire Grill, Cabo Flats, The Cheese Course, Copper’s Hawk, Cucina, Ice Box Café, Rusty Bucket, Salsa Fiesta, and Sloan’s Ice Cream. There will also be a Cobb CineBistro, a King’s Bowling, and a Fresh Market. The first portion of the City Place megaproject, the Manor at City Place Doral, a rental apartment community, was completed in 2014. When complete, City Place Doral will have over 1,000 residential units. And three Cocowalks.
